Study on youth issues in a French department : data on youngsters (demography, education, employment, training, health, juvenile delinquency...) , public programmes proposed (public services dealing with youngsters : Youth and sports, Education, Social affairs, Justice, Police....).

Context

1. an overview on statistics concerning youngsters (demography, education, training, employment, health...) : departmental data already collected and studies already made
2. an overview on public programmes offered to youngsters through public services in the department
3. an analysis of the good adpatation between the offer and the demand
4. Departement : Seine-Maritime
5. references on a national and a regional level

Objectives

Three main objectives :
1. a better knowledge on youth in the Departement;
2. a collection of the different public tools and programmes for youngsters ;
3. a better adaptation of the politics in favour of youngsters to their needs

Project outcomes

A synthesis is integrated in the publication Youth volunteering.

Planning

December - March 2001 : Contacts with public bodies responsible for youngsters
April-May 2001 : first draft with rough data
June-December 2001 : final draft
